For me the interpretation is about everyone trying to make you into someone your not: ie your friends or parents and even society. This is a song of resistance against conformity and fitting in from my perspective.

A up to date song that could've also been about the times of JESUS and The Christian religious and political slave Revolution. Parallel with the times when Spartacus and the slaves who were considered 'the bad' or like the deplorables of our time that fought back against the Elite Roman[s] Empire who were considered 'the good' that were in cahoots with the religious Pharasees that the Christians and the poor pagans put up 'The Resistance' against Them to free themselves in mind,body and soul.

The Resistance means exactly what is sounds like:we are the resistance to the world. We (Christians)are the resistance to the unholy things of the world. We live for Christ, we spread His Word, and we won't give up, even when we are put down.

Call me crazy, but this is what it means to me:
A group of human experiments from a laboratory escape and try to blend in with society, trying to hide their powers, like magic or wings, but the scientists keep coming back, trying to capture them, but the experiments snap and retaliate, revealing to the world just how powerful they are.
This is how I interpret it.

This song is chirstian and is about rising up to the bad in the world and dying for what you believe in. no matter who we are, we can all stand up and rise with all our efforts, not listening to and being mislead by lies. peace and belief is the way.
